02/02/2012 Thursday

Today we have been at our house a week already. We actually arrived on Wednesday of last week but stayed that night in Grand. That first week was so busy with the kids here that the time just flew.

This morning we got to work right away. Richard installed the porch light and I watered all the new coconut trees and poked around on the beach. We cut a hugh island grape tree that was arching over our drive. Around 10:30 we headed to the bank in the village. It is actually called Blossom Village. I set up on-line banking here and we needed cash to pay shipping fees on our fridge and stove and misc. others. Since we were up town, Richard insisted we eat lunch at Iggy's. While there, we had 3 drips of rain.

This afternoon we worked our butts off, just like old times. We started clearing more of our jungle. It is a good exhausted feeling we have tonight. As I sit here typing, it is so quiet. Now that the resort next door eliminated their bar, it is like they are not there.

I fixed pork chops and baked potatoes on the grill tonight. The vegees were cooked in the micro. so I had easy clean up after supper. Hope my grill doesn't run out of fuel. The guy who fills the tanks is not coming over from the Brac for four more weeks. That's island life.

  1. seriously...pork chops and baked potatoes???? You are in the freaking Caribbean!! You should be eating fish and crabs and lobster and various island veggies and mangos and such...jeez you would think you are in Iowa! Stop bringing food from home or buying food shipped from the states. You are on a tropical island accept it already!
