We woke up early this morning on our beautiful Caribbean island.  It was a hot, sunny day with a slight breeze.  Richard went fishing with the guys and they came back with tuna!  He said they had the best tuna fishing this year!  We had fresh tuna for dinner tonight.

The day was spent getting ready for our departure.  We washed the kayaks, beach chairs, truck, scooter and ourselves.  All the hammocks are put away.  Everything was going according to plan.  Richard checked our tickets and downloaded them to our phones.  Suddenly he noticed the flights were not as we had scheduled.  We will miss our flight out of Grand Cayman!  Both of us were in hyper mode and getting crazier by the minute!  Several phone calls later, we had a plan.  We packed up our things and took them to the airport to be flown over without us.  Hopefully, that will save some time and enable us to get on our plane the next day.  American changed our flight on us and we couldn't change our connections as they were full.  We are hoping our flight leaving Little and Brac are early and leaving Grand is late.   Time will tell!  What an adventure!

Dinner was on the porch this evening while we watched another beautiful sunset.  This sure is an island paradise.

Sun almost set.  These two photos should be reversed!

I made the photos too large when I did Saturday's posting.  To see full photo, click on the picture.  It appears I am still learning the process here.

The weather is so perfect here again!  We snorkeled again on the north side at what is called "bus stop".  We went out to the wall, way out!  Everything was huge!  What a beautiful way to spend the afternoon!  Every time we go out, we see new things.  It is hard to believe I have to wait ten months to be here again!  But, I get to come back in ten months!  Yay!  I am definitely going to snorkel again tomorrow.  Why not!  There are so many fun things to do here on this island!

It is hard to put into words what I did today.  I sat on a beach chair and read for awhile.  It sounds mundane but the experience was so great!  The ocean noise, the little gecko scurrying by me, the bananaquit suddenly singing next to me.  Memories!

Last night we went to friends for dinner and had a fun time.  When we got home, we watched the stars in the dark sky.  What a sight!  The tide has been very high during the day, which is nice.

Richard is going out with Brian in the morning to fish.  We will be up early.  There is no point in waisting time sleeping.  There are too many fun things to do.
Giant Trigger Fish.
Here is a big Flounder.  He has irredescent blue dots on him.  He sure blends in to the sea floor.
A big leopard grouper with a parrot fish swimming above him.
A good shot of this big leopard grouper.
A sweet turtle swimming over a huge group of fish swarming on some coral.  Notice the anchor bouy attached to the bottom of the ocean.  Dive boats tie up to this bouy.

The last I typed on my blog was a rainy day.  Luckily, the next day was sunny and beautiful so the weather was instantly forgiven!  It has been sunny and wonderful here in paradise ever since.  We have had a guest for a few days so I have not posted.  The guys went fishing but the seas were rough.  They didn't go out as they were planning to do.  We did get to go snorkeling, so I was happy.

Today when the guys went to the tarpon pond I was going to ride my bike and do a beach walk.  The wind was blowing and I decided to just do an in house work out instead.  That was a mistake!  I took a hard fall, tripping over my own feet!  It is hard to imagine how I did such a thing.  That is why they call it an accident, I guess!  I fell on my side and hit my head on the cupboard also.  It was very scary!  I hurt all over now.

We went on a beautiful snorkel in the afternoon.  I was hoping it would help heal me.  We saw many extra huge fish and they all tried to support me and made my spirits high!

This was a beautiful sight!  Tons of "cleaner" fish on this coral.
Giant Eagle Ray.  His tail was 15 feet long!
A sweet little Box Fish.

A beautiful big Nurse Shark.

Saturday, March 5, 2016

I woke up this morning to another beautiful day here in paradise.  I got up and hurried along with breakfast and did a big load of laundry.  It was a necessary load!  Richard left to visit the returning fishermen about 8:30 to 8:45.  As soon as he left it started to drizzle.  I decided to wait on hanging out the clothes.  The sun would shine in a bit and the breeze would blow.  It happened and I hurried to get the clothes out.  The sun disappeared and soon it was lightly raining again.  I wish I would have brought the laundry in but I didn't.  It rained all day!  What a strange day.  My things are still out there tonight hanging on a drooping line.  In the morning I will take them down and run them through a rinse cycle and hang them back out.

I did some computer work today and spent some time on the porch and read my book and did crossword puzzles.  All day I thought it would quit raining.  I want my sunshine back!!

Yesterday, about 6:30 am, the breeze started to blow very gently and some of the humity lifted.  Boy, was that nice!  I went on my bike ride and beach walk and spent the whole day outside.  In the afternoon I was in the water and reading under the umbrella on my beach chair.  I am so lucky to be here.  It is hard to describe how I felt while enjoying such a beautiful time on our very own beach in the caribbean.  Is this real!!

Richard has more boat trouble.  He was unable to fish again.  I feel bad for him.

We had such a nice time with friends last night.  We have met so many great people here.

This morning I took my kayak to Owen island early in the morning.  The water was flat and there was no wind.  The paddle was so easy.  When I got there I lounged around and went for a swim with a cute, mid sized stingray.  My bike was waiting to be ridden but varyity is the spice of life!  Richard was working  on his boat motor again.

After getting back from Owen I hit the beach lounger and read my book.  Is this for real???

This afternoon, Tom helped Richard get the boat out of the water.  He is finished for the year.  This is too bad as he has a fishing buddy arriving on Sunday.  They are planning on fishing until he leaves on Thursday morning.  Now there is no boat!  This will all get resolved and next year will be different.  He did everything he could for that motor but it is a stubborn one.

We slept great last night on a very still, warm night.  We went to bed at 8:15 pm.  I don't know how that happened!  We were both very tired!  Richard left with Tom at 6:00 in the morning to go fishing.  The water was completely flat and we had no breeze at all again.  The deep ocean waters were very flat also.  They returned with no fish!  None of the guys were successful today.

I went on my ride and walk again.  It was a hot one.  When I got back home I took a nap in the hammock.  It was only 10:00 AM.  I had some fun visits while out, I guess that wore me out!

After lunch we had a great snorkel on the north side.  It is like you are alone in the world over there.  One would think everyone would be there enjoying it.  What a life!

We saw a turtle!
Sunday, the Earl and Countess of Wessex are arriving on Little Cayman.  That is Prince Edward and Sophie.  Everyone is excited on the island for their arrival.  They will eat dinner at Southern Cross Club.  Such fun!

We went to Wet Your Whistle at SCC tonight and visited with friends we hadn't seen since last year.

This was a really tight group of fish at a 40ft drop off.  I guess they like big city life!
This was just a pretty stingray we got to enjoy seeing.

I woke up this morning again with the air conditioner on.  The bugs are not in the house and this is nice.  We had rain in the night and I didn't have to get up and close windows either!  The atmosphere is just different, though!  I love the windows open!  Maybe it is just because I am used to it.  Today was really hot and not very breezy.  At noon we decided to open up. The power company is disappointed, I am sure!  I worry our bill will be humongous!

Richard took the boat out fishing this morning.  He caught a nice tuna and we ate fish for dinner tonight.  Wow!  The $7,728.75 fish!!!  That is the total of all the motor and boat repairs.  I made sure I cooked that fish to perfection! Ha Ha!  He was sure a happy fisherman!

I went on my bike ride and beach walk this morning without a breeze at all.  That is unusual.  I could see the barge out in the ocean tootling along to the Brac.

This afternoon I was in the water.  It was too hot to do anything else!  I love it!
