Today was the day of the boat!  The parts to fix the hydraulics in the boat motor arrived early this morning and Richard got right to work.  I had barely settled onto my beach chair when he arrived home and needed help getting the boat in the water. We headed right there and hauled it to the public dock.  It was half way into the water when I said better check if it starts!  Sure enough the batteries were dead!  All the working on everything had drained them.  So, out came the boat!  What a bummer!  We have a trickle charger but that would take all day.  Luckily Mark had a charger but we had to get the batteries out and charge them.  So we went home and ate lunch while the batteries charged.

After lunch we finally went back and proceeded to put the boat in.  The tide was out but conditions were good.  He backed the boat down and suddenly I noticed how slick the ramp was and sure enough the truck was sliding to the water!!!  I yelled for him to stop and he tried to go forward but continued to slide back.   I was supposed to drive the truck out once the boat was in but that was not going to happen!

I ran for help!  After a few tries, I found the District Officer at his home!  Talk about luck!  He brought his truck and a rope and tied it to our truck.  Richard got the boat in so there was less weight.  Mr. Scott pulled our truck out and we were finally in the water.  What an adventure!  There is just so much moss or whatever with the salty waves crashing on the ramp.  I guess this happens to people here and some have lost vehicles!  Good grief!

Richard motored off and I proceeded to take the truck home.  I wanted to get there and take a photo as he pulled up to the dock at home.  He didn't show up and it just got later and later!  Turns out the motor had more problems.  It worked great at first but all of a sudden died.  He almost got thrown into the breakers!  He finally managed to get it slowly running and took hours to get here.

Tomorrow we will take it back out of the water and try to spend more money to fix it.  In the meantime there are fish out there waiting to be caught!  I may try taking a pole and fishing from the dock where we put in.  There were some nice fish there and it wouldn't cost a fortune!

We went to Wet Your Whistle tonight.  It was great to get away and visit friends and have a drink!  What a day!  At least it is a warm and sunny and beautiful place to have boat trouble!
